음성 맹동초등학교 김재성 교장이 보재 이상설 선생의 서훈 등급 상향을 위한 릴레이 캠페인에 동참했다.
이상설 선생은 1962년 대한독립 공로로 건국훈장 대통령장(2등급)을 추서받았다. 진천군과 충청북도가 현재 대한민국장(1등급)으로 승격하기 위해 추진 중이다.
김 교장은 이상설 선생 순국 108주년을 맞아 이상설기념관을 방문했다. 독립운동 행적을 기록한 행장비를 살피며 선생의 뜻을 되새겼다.
2027년은 이상설 선생이 정사로 나섰던 헤이그 특사 120주년이다. 다음 릴레이 캠페인은 음성 생극초등학교에서 이어질 예정이다.

Principal Kim Jae-sung of Eumseong Participates in Honors Upgrade Relay Campaign
Principal Kim Jae-sung of Maeungdong Elementary School in Eumseong participated in a relay campaign to upgrade the honors grade of Protector Lee Sang-seol.
Lee Sang-seol received the Order of Merit for National Foundation, Presidential Badge (Grade 2) in 1962 for contributions to Korean independence. Jincheon County and Chungcheongbuk Province are currently advancing an upgrade to the Order of the Republic of Korea (Grade 1).
Principal Kim visited the Lee Sang-seol Memorial Hall marking the 108th anniversary of Lee's death. He reviewed a memorial stele documenting Lee's independence movement activities and reflected on the protector's legacy.
2027 marks the 120th anniversary of the Hague Envoy Mission in which Lee Sang-seol served as principal envoy. The next relay campaign is scheduled to continue at Saengguk Elementary School in Eumseong.+
