청주시는 3일 문암생태공원 주차장 확장 등 편의시설 개선사업과 캠핑하우스 설치사업을 완료했다고 밝혔다. 청주시는 올 초부터 문암생태공원을 방문하는 시민들의 편의성 증진을 위해 사업을 추진했다. 문암생태공원 방문객은 2023년 약 30만 명, 2024년 약 50만 명, 2025년 약 65만 명(추산)으로 매년 증가하는 추세다.

◆ 주차장 500면 확대·캠핑하우스 예약률 90%

청주시는 방문객 증가에 발맞춰 주차장 시설을 개선했다. 주차 면수를 기존 380면에서 500면으로 확대하고 주차 공간을 재배치해 차량 순환이 빠르게 이뤄지도록 했다. 공원 캠핑장에는 상반기에 캠핑하우스 3동을 설치하고 7월부터 본격 운영을 시작했다. 월별 예약률은 점진적으로 증가하는 추세이며 성수기·비성수기를 가리지 않고 평균 예약률이 90%에 가까울 정도로 인기가 높다.

◆ 사계절 즐기는 공원 조성 박차

청주시는 올해 문암생태공원에서 온가족 힐링놀이터(유아놀이터, 무장애놀이터, 어드벤처놀이터), 봄철 튤립정원, 여름철 물놀이장, 맨발걷기길, 캠핑장·바비큐장 등을 운영하고 있다. 시 관계자는 "이번 시설개선 사업을 통해 문암생태공원을 방문하는 시민들의 이용 만족도가 높아지기를 기대한다"며 "앞으로도 문암생태공원이 더욱 활성화될 수 있도록 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
