◆ 우수기관 선정의 의미

단양군보건의료원이 충북지역암센터 주관 '2025년 충북지역 암관리사업 평가'에서 국가암관리 부문 우수기관으로 선정됐다. 지역 특성과 인구 구조를 분석해 군민 눈높이에 맞춘 암 예방 정책을 추진한 결과다.

단양군은 충북 평균보다 폐암 발생률이 높고 대장암, 위암 순으로 암 발생이 많다. 보건의료원은 통계자료와 현장 의견을 토대로 고위험 암에 대한 집중 관리 필요성을 도출했다.

◆ 지역맞춤형 암관리 전략

폐암 발생의 주요 위험 요인인 흡연율 개선을 핵심 과제로 설정했다. 건강증진팀과 연계해 집중 금연·폐암예방 캠페인을 전개했다.

지역 고령인구 비중이 높은 특성을 고려해 관내 43개 경로당을 직접 방문했다. 어르신 대상으로 암 검진 항목, 검진 절차, 출장 검진 일정을 안내해 고령층의 암 검진 접근성을 높였다.

◆ 암예방 교육과 성과

충북지역암센터와 유기적 협력을 통해 암 예방 교육의 전문성과 지속성을 강화했다. 자체 주관으로 연 12회 암 예방 교육을 실시해 군민들이 반복적·단계적으로 참여할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다.

단양군 내 발생률이 높은 대장암·위암을 중심으로 발생 요인, 검진 절차, 정기검진 중요성을 설명해 군민들이 일상에서 실천할 수 있도록 했다.

보건의료원은 "지역 특성과 군민 건강 요구를 반영한 암 관리사업을 체계적으로 추진하겠다"며 "암예방과 조기 검진률 향상을 위해 더 세밀하고 지속 가능한 정책을 펼쳐나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

Danyang County shows higher lung cancer incidence rate than Chungbuk average, with colorectal cancer and gastric cancer following in incidence rates. Health Care Center identified necessity for concentrated management of high-risk cancers based on statistical data and on-site opinions.

◆ Regionally Customized Cancer Management Strategy

Improved smoking rate as main risk factor for lung cancer incidence set as core task. Launched concentrated smoking cessation and lung cancer prevention campaign in connection with health promotion team.

Considering high proportion of elderly population in region, directly visited 43 community centers within county. Enhanced cancer screening accessibility for elderly by guiding cancer screening items, screening procedures, and visiting screening schedules targeting seniors.

◆ Cancer Prevention Education and Results

Strengthened expertise and continuity of cancer prevention education through organic cooperation with Chungbuk Regional Cancer Center. Conducted 12 cancer prevention education sessions annually under own direction to create environment enabling residents to participate repeatedly and progressively.

Explained incidence factors, screening procedures, and importance of regular screening centered on colorectal and gastric cancers with high incidence rates in Danyang County, enabling residents to practice in daily life.

Health Care Center stated, "Will systematically implement cancer management projects reflecting regional characteristics and residents' health needs," and expressed commitment to "develop more detailed and sustainable policies for cancer prevention and improving early screening rates."
