김문근 단양군수 지난 25일 국회를 직접 방문했다. 2026년도 정부 예산안에 단양군 현안사업을 반영하기 위한 움직임이다. 예산 심사가 사실상 막바지 단계인 만큼 여야를 구분하지 않고 국회의원들을 만났다. 더불어민주당 한정애 의원(단양 출신), 우원식 국회의장, 국민의힘 엄태영 의원 등 5명의 국회의원과 차례로 면담했다. 각 자리에서 단양군의 시급한 현안사업을 설명하고 국비 반영을 거듭 요청했다.
◆ 618억원 규모 핵심사업
이날 건의한 주요사업은 3건이다. 생활쓰레기 소각시설 신설에 142억원, 남천지구 풍수해 생활권 종합정비에 426억원을 각각 요청했다. 총 사업비는 618억원 규모다. 김 군수는 면담 자리에서 "이번에 건의한 사업들은 단양군의 미래 경쟁력을 좌우하고 군민의 안전과 직결되는 필수사업"이라고 강조했다. 또 "지금이 아니면 추진 동력을 확보하기 어려운 만큼 국회의 적극적인 관심과 지원이 필요하다"고 말했다.
◆ 국회 협의 지속 추진
단양군은 이번 국회 방문을 계기로 중앙부처와 국회를 대상으로 한 다각적인 협의를 이어나갈 계획이다. 2026년도 정부 예산 반영을 적극 추진하겠다는 입장이다. 김 군수는 "단양의 주민 안전과 삶의 질 향상을 위해 심사 막바지까지 국비 확보에 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ Projects Worth 61.8 Billion Won
The main projects proposed that day number three. The county requested 14.2 billion won for construction of a new waste incineration facility and 42.6 billion won for comprehensive maintenance of the Namcheon district's disaster prevention and living area. The total project cost amounts to 61.8 billion won. During the meetings, Governor Kim emphasized, "The projects proposed this time determine Danyang County's future competitiveness and are essential projects directly linked to residents' safety." He also stated, "Since this opportunity may not come again, active attention and support from the National Assembly are necessary."
◆ Ongoing Legislative Consultations
Danyang County plans to continue multifaceted consultations with central government agencies and the National Assembly following this visit. The county aims to actively promote inclusion of these projects in the 2026 government budget. Governor Kim added, "To improve residents' safety and quality of life in Danyang, I will make every effort to secure government funding through the final stages of budget review."
